Transience Squares - Mirror

<p>Transience shows the beauty of the natural oxidizing process inherent in mirrors. This process can be regarded as degradation, however this project exhibits the beauty of this material transition of silver. By accelerating and manipulating this process, the Transience mirrors illustrate the various stages of oxidation through the repetition of fundamental geometric shapes. Depending on the time that the silver is treated, different colour tones can be achieved, ranging from gold to brown, to purple to blue.</p>

Well Proven High Barstool - Understanding that there is 50% to 80% of timber wastage during normal manufacture, Marjan van Aubel and James Shaw incorporated waste shavings into design chairs and stools using bio resin. A curious chemical reaction occurs when it is mixed with the shavings, expanding it into foam. The porridge-like mixture of resin and shavings is slapped on to the underside of the stool shell by hand, forming a strong and lightweight material. The exuberantly shaped seat is anchored by the simple turned legs of ash wood. The series of Well Proven Stools are especially designed for Transnatural Label.
