Raised bowl B&W series. Hand-turned in white clay through the 'Ceramics Throwing' technique that uses the Potter's wheel, a machine used to shape-round ceramic ware. The wheel may also be used for applying incised decoration on the shaped piece. Two-tone matt black and white glaze. This striking centrepiece in white clay has an external finish in black on the base and white on the body, with an internal decoration of fine, parallel black lines over the white finish. This minimalist and geometric piece was the result of Bitossi's collaboration with renowned Italian architect Ettore Sottsass in 1962.
