Curved Lounge Chair

<p>In continuation of my research of planar material, I refined a single broad bend in creating the shell for a lounge chair. Cutting a pie shape away from a circle and curving it to connect the edges creates the three dimensional chair shell. The wide seat invites users to have freedom with their posture, and the long line of the outside curve functions as a armrest. The form of the legs echos the chair shell’s perimeter.</p>

Rectangle Mirror - <p>The geometric design of the mirrors reference constructivist painting. Form is created by matching various shapes and by combining different proportions of geometry.<br /> I wanted my mirrors to display a rich harmony and simplicity of materiality. I used black acrylic, bronze acrylic mirror, gold acrylic mirror, polished copper to create the mirrored surfaces and ebonized wood for the frame. My intention for the frame was to have a strong linear quality. The rails of the frame were cut very thin to emphasize line.</p> | Arteficius
