CAD weaving is a new material that brings a twist to traditional weaving techniques. It is made by identical pieces of leather and veneer that glued together in a crisscross manner to form a block. The block is then programmed in 3D computer software to find the right pattern and shape and cut in a CNC machine to create the curved surface, revealing a different pattern in each cut. The use of the new semi fabric material on the lid of the wooden jars takes inspiration from classic kitchen jars with patchwork fabric covers.
